I'll chime in to say that I'm getting this error (or at least one indistiguishable from it from the symptoms and /var/log/jockey.log) on a clean 12.04 install. kernel is 32-bit PAE. Installing the "updates" packages with apt worked, though jockey is none the wiser that any driver is in use. -- Y
