Half of this problem persists in 2.32.1 and 2.32.2 - the confusion
between dd/mm/yy and mm/dd/yy remains but the crashes are fixed.

I have the same problem with 9.10 - both on the latest updated system
and in an unchanged beta boot disc. I am using an Australian ISP pop
account. The indicator applet does work as expected for Pidgin messages.

I attempted to follow the instructions in
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash but was unable to install
the debugging software - keyserver.ubuntu.com has not responded over the
last couple of days.
