Ubiquity install fail

Before this bug I already needed the workaround as described in bug #710582
(note that I am using a 386 machine and the final install CD). Now the
installer failed after copying all files.
I had performed manual partinioning in case it may matter.

I have a RAID1 system with grub being supposed to install on two drives. This
worked during install (alternative installer)
Now the grub-pc update caused a hang (no reasonable IO activity, no CPU usage
but still no progress for 10 min). Uninstall

BTW, unlike Fernando my system has an i386 (32 Bit) Ubuntu installed

I had the same problem after updating a freshly installed Lucid Lynx (10.04)
system with the package grub-pc 1.98-1ubuntu6.
The program took ages (minutes that is) and then displayed, that the UUIDs had
changed and I should point out which drives are the ones to install grub to.

After the proposed update from kernel 2.6.27-7 to -8 the system didn't start a
proper X as the nvidia module wasn't found.
It turned out that the nvidia-glx package wasn't updated as well, thus the
/lib/modules/2.6.27-8-generic/updates/dk

I recently found out by cahnce that this problem ist not primarily due
to the cam-driver but in fact a problem of the USB-driver. If you use a
USB-Port which is covered by the UHCI-driver than everything is fine, if
it it EHCI than the problem occurs.

Okay, I tried it now with both Live/Install-CDs (Feisty Beta Ubuntu and
Kubuntu).
Opening UnoConnectionListener.sxd did NOT cause problems with Ubuntu. Also I
could install and use bibus without any problems after adding it to the
sources.list.
Same approach with Kubuntu -> OpenOffice-Draw cras
There is a workaround I found:
type
sudo nano /usr/lib/openoffice/share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Setup.xcu
(Might be a good idea to keep a backup of that file :) )

Hmm, that is strange. I tried it on an Edgy install (different machine)
using the "official" OOo package and now on my Kubuntu Feisty with
identical results. Could this be KDE-related (as it seems to run on your
Ubuntu-system)?

(http://www.dfg.de/forschungsfoerderung/formulare/download/30_02.rtf) which I
needed to fill in. The file open without any problems in OOo Writer (Dapper,
2.0.2).
I did that and saved the result as an odt-file an

I transferred a folder from my Windows system to Ubuntu.
When I tried to open the new folder in Gnome's file manager (the default one)
