released by Ubuntu (also with the 3.5-series). I tried 3.8.0. It still

kernel boot options. Seems I can pull the cable without crash now. Don't
know how long this will last. If required, I can post a log of ACPI

The problem still occurs with kernel 3.6.7 I just compiled on my UX31A.
The system will always poweroff now when pullig the power cable. I see
sudden shutdowns when running on battery.

Just want to update this issue:
For me it works now. I installed the 32Bit Version of Kubuntu but did
not install any nvida drivers. I set "Use XRenderer" in some KDE
settings dialog. So, it seems advisable to stay away from nvidia stuff.

I think I am dealing with some related problem on my Compaq Mini 700.
The ethernet will never work when booting the first time when the system
