The space is used for the throbber which indicates when Empathy is
connecting to your accounts.
The solution to this would probably be to display the throbber
permanently, but when the account is offline/online, have it greyed out
(see Firefox activity indicator as an example).

I can confirm this for some DVDs but can't pin it down, particularly
because my laptop and desktop are showing different results for the same
DVD.
I'll need to test a little more and see if I can find a pattern. Also

Parcellite version 0.7 is now out:
New
+ Added man page.
+ Option to disable/enable saving history.
Changes
+ Removed startup option.
+ Performance improvements.
+ Runs at startup by default in GNOME (remove via GNOME's Sessions
application).
+ Config now saves in ~/.config/parcellit
I also think this should be packaged and put in the repositories. Though
some of the bugs probably need to be sorted out, whether that will
happen by Hardy or not is another question.

I also get this problem. Same card using WPA but TKIP as the encryption
type.
The connection simply drops, could quite possibly be down to connection
load though it seems to happen more when using BitTorrent rather than a
HTTP download.
Restoring of connection requires me to click on the Access P
I'd expand on this slightly and allow the user to pick from a list of
formats which should be used for audio preview. If the user selects a
codec that is not found on the system (via Gstreamer), it should ask the
user if they would like to install it (again, making note of legality).
Nonetheless,
I can confirm this bug and it happens without Compiz and with totem-
xine. Window Manager in use is Metacity.
To keep the menu open you need to press and hold the right mouse button.
To select the item you need to highlight the option you need then let go
of the right mouse button.

Another vote for the previous version back. The new interface has been
poorly thought out and achieves nothing over the old style (and the lack
of choice about being able to choose between the old and new style is
strange).
In my opinion, if the developer refuses to at least provide an option
