I own a lenovo T400 laptop with an Intel® GM45 Express gpu card
(basically gma4500), and got installed maverick on a clean partition
I use to play a game called Heroes of Newerth (native build, not through
Wine), and the performance drop is horrible
This is very bad.
After upgrade, I closed the lid and woke up that my laptop battery was fully
drained and the temperature in my backpack grew like in summer. My T400 is cold
usually, so this bug is serious!

imho karmic is an intermediary release so we should think about pushing php
5.3.x into it.
Also having php 5.3.x in karmic, will allow us get it more stable for the next
LTS.
More than this, php 5.2.9 is already in Debian testing, so moving up to
5.3.0 would be somehow synced with them.

Hmm, actually it solved partially the bug.
Now I can logout, but CTRL+C and screen still are not working.
The problem doesn't seem to be caused by openssh-server/client packages.
I've downgraded to hardy version, and the bug persists.
There's something else that causes the bug, but it happens onl
Downgrading to openssh 1:5.1p1-5ubuntu1 (Jaunty x86) solved the bug for
me, so the issue is somewhere in applied patches between
1:5.1p1-5ubuntu1 (Jaunty) and 1:5.1p1-6ubuntu1 (Karmic) builds.

I must report that I've tried patching the current `php5` package from hardy in
order to offer modified `php5-cgi` with support for fpm under a new package`
php5-fpm` and I failed miserably cause of the long list of patched the package
depends on.
The fpm patch would be 63rd on the list.
