I'm also experiencing this. In my case sdb happens to be the memory card
reader. The output stops when I plug in a memory card. Here's an except
from the dmesg output:

I can help you with this issue. I have an acer laptop and the euro and dollar
keys doesn't work in X. I followed the steps in

that the 'euro' key, when pressed, is producing 'scan code: 0xB3 key code:
