The system freezes (display shows last image before the freeze) at
random intervals with no obvious indications and has to be hard-
rebooted. The logs seem to be cut off at the moment of the freeze, and
the system becomes unreachable from the net.

When working in Tuxguitar, pressing any key which has a Control-
shortcut assigned to it in the shortcuts list, the Control- action

An update to my last comment; After killing the gnome-settings-daemon,
the custom shortcuts begin working *for the remainder of the session*.
Logging out or rebooting resets the behavior, until gnome-settings-
daemon is killed again.

I have installed the gnome-settings-daemon package from the ppa, killed
the gnome-settings-daemon process and waited for it to respawn; the
custom keyboard shortcuts began working immediately.

I'm experiencing this with indicator-datetime-0.3.1-0ubuntu1, from
oneric-proposed with the following specifics:
My current location is listed twice consecutively in the indicator menu;
My current location is not defined in the locations dialog;
Defining my current location in the locations dialog
Still an issue in bcmwl 5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu3.2, affecting other
applications that rely on getting the wireless status in this fashion
(for example, Conky, which cannot display ESSID or signal strength if
executed as normal user).
