If you got problems removing xorg-driver-fglrx-dev or xorg-driver-fglrx-
dev then open /var/lib/dpkg/status and search for those packages. Remove
the paragraphs and save the file (don't forget to back it up). Now you
can install the patched driver.

I'm not sure but when I did the upgrade, pidgin was running (which uses
the pango lib) perhaps pidgin blocked the upgrade of the pango lib.
The console output of "nautilus --browser" was
