Installing libkmod2-dev:i386 fails when the 64-bit version is also
installed. See below. The 'partially installed' package is because of a
previous aptitude install command which included many other packages
which first showed the error.
$ sudo aptitude install libudev-dev:i
I know as much as is mentioned in the KB. The problem got worse enough
for me to experiment so I tried this even though it was for an older
version. Unfortunately you can ignore this workaround, the problem has
resurfaced.

recommended using proprietary drivers for trackpad. Here is the Dell KB

that it is out of visible screen boundaries.
There was no way of choosing between 'Yes' and 'No'. Just had to dismiss
the dialog box by pressing 'Close' button which obviously would have
cancelled sending it

Attached is the workaround I am presently using. It's as inflexible and
specific as the original implementation, but atleast provides
consistency and solves _my_ problem.

Hi Christopher,
My display now works fine in 12.04. But I still ran that command in case
the data helps.
However, apologies I ran this command on 12.04. I will have to install
Ubuntu 13.10 for this and then test right? Can I do that on a virtual
machine? Would the results vary?
