I have the same/similar issue with Ubuntu 15.10, Unity, NVidia GTX 970,
NVidia-352 prop driver.
My main display (the left one) is 1920x1080 plugged in via HDMI, and my second
monitor is 1280x1024 via DVI. I setup my big monitor to be the left one, and my
smaller to be the right one via Unity dis
I make the mistake regularly of writing a non-breaking space instead of
a regular space, when writing shell scripts. It produces errors that are
very difficult to detect.

I don't expect Unity to start at all. As I've told I'm running Gnome
metacity and the bug here is the assumption that Unity didn't show up.
UNITY IS NOT SUUPOSED TO SHOW UP. THIS BUGREPORT IS THE BUG.

I'm running my computer in gnome metacity and don't cae about unity at
all. Unity was a BIG FAILURE from the beginning. It is easy to know
what you have in gnome but impossible in Unity.

I thought I have the same bug after upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but
looks like the terminal link has just been updated to point to Konsole.
Make sure you're actually running gnome-terminal and not konsole!

I have this problem too. The workaround from John didn't fix it. I have
Indicator Applet Complete 0.5.0 and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
