I can confirm the bug, and that "sudo" is a workaround.
I've strace synergyc with and without sudo. i attached to log file.
With sudo it works, it only hangs 2/3 times at the begining and then it
works perfectly

I noticed something strange that may not be directly related to net
usershare:
from the man of "net usershare add":
The default if no "acl" is given is "Everyone:R", which means any authenticated
user has read-only access.
so when i try to create a share without specifying the acl it's ok:

I think i found the issue:
i'm using the python equivalent to /usr/bin/gnome-open
and if you don't provide the exact credential in the url, it won't ask for the
password or the username:
$ gnome-open dav://[EMAIL PROTECTED]:51526/
Error showing url: Access denied
so i replaced this by using naut
The error is an "access denied" trying to access the webdav share, and i
didn't handle this error, that's why it crashed, i thought it was
handled by nautilus itself.

avahi restart, and displaying a graphical error message on issues with
dbus is implemented in the upcoming release.
It seems that most of the crash that were reported in launchpad were
related to the session bus not being available. in s-d-a the session bus
was used for notifications, i moved on u

In my opinion only small issues remain (almost all have fixes), but this one is
really blocking -> impossible to fininish installation.

This issue is not specific to macbook.
We have this issue with all apple keyboard with french keympa. (see the

hello in my opinion using the ip is a quick hack, for example it
wouldn"t work with http virtualhost, that's why i moved from using ip to
hostname
the good fix is IMO to install the mdns resolver to get a full zeroconf stack
