manually from packages.ubuntu.com, trusty-updates:
- libnl-3-200_3.2.21-1ubuntu1.1_amd64.deb
- libnl-genl-3-200_3.2.21-1ubuntu1.1_amd64.deb
- libnl-route-3-200_3.2.21-1ubuntu1.1_amd64.deb
Has to install it using sudo dpkg -i,

Background info: I already have a UEFI based windows 8.1 instance
installed in C drive(/dev/sda1), so I am trying for a dual boot
installation, which works fine with Ubuntu 15.10 live instance.
As 16.04 installation failed, I removed the USB drive and restarted, then I got

I feel it has more to do with issues regarding the display driver though. Its
an Intel 82Q35 Express Integrated Graphics Controller

I freed up space in my laptop, restarted the computer and ran-
sudo apt-get install -f
The Update was completed and package gdm was updated correctly. I think that
the problem was with the lack of space. The downloaded update files was nearly
