bug, because it shows up with a version that I custom-compiled with
ffmpeg support as well. A workaround is to symbolically link the
/usr/lib/ladspa folder into /usr/share/audacity:

On my system, this was happening because my user was a member of both
the "admin" and "sudo" groups. The "admin" group is no longer used by
Ubuntu by default (it is "adm" instead), so removing your user from the
"admin" group should solve this issue. Your user should still be a
member of the "adm"
Turns out fglrx was in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-local.conf for some
reason. After removing it, the Catalyst driver works fine. Marking the

This is what I'm currently experiencing using KDE + fglrx drivers,
unless I use the xrender backend or disable compositing altogether.
Unfortunately, using xrender causes issues with windowed OpenGL apps not

workaround? That's how I resolved my blank screen freezes using previous
versions of the fglrx driver. I haven't been able to get a freeze using
13.1 + kwin OpenGL backend yet, but we'll see...

With the fglrx driver on my laptop using Kubuntu, I have to turn off

I noticed the Muse sequencer also causes the same artifacts and lockups
when resizing. While playing around with options, I discovered the
following workaround that fixes the artifacting/freezes on all offending
applications. Launch the application as follows:

On my system (i915), I notice only a minor speed deterioration using the
DebugWait command, observed in Aquaria (lower fps) and Snes9x (increased
"hiccups"). The corrupted glyphs seem to be fixed for me as well using

image. A few reboots after disabling the Ambiance theme's panel
background, I got the corruption again.

My temporary workaround is to install the Gnome integration instead--it just
looks and works so much better, especially if you use a unified system theme
such as QtCurve. To do this, remove openoffice.org-kde and install
openoffice.org-gnome instead. OpenOffice will now no longer have file dia
whoop: I personally believe it is the same bug.

--dump" reports the lid as open. After I close the lid and then re-open
it, however, "upower --dump" will report the lid as closed (even though
/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state says it's open), and will continue to do
so for a whil
I created a script that checks the status of
/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state over time. I ran it while I reproduced
the bug (disconnected AC, screen went blank), and
/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state correctly reported the lid as "open" the
whole time.
