It's been almost three years since I filed this and by now I totally
forgot about it.
However I just changed the swap partition in fstab back to the HDD and I
don't see the delay during boot anymore... :-S

I recently installed a SSD in my PC.
Bootchart shows a ~10s delay when "swapon" is busy see:
