I'm running X-Plane 10.03 Beta 10 on Ubuntu Oneiric 64 here.
A X-Plane MessageBox states that "We could not locate an load OpenAL"
while strace shows

I've been trying a few times, but no, it doesn't work anymore. No Video
then, Ctrl-Alt-Backspace or Ctrl-Alt-F1 etc. not working.
At this time the _only_ working driver here seems to be the "ATI
Catalystâ„¢ Proprietary Display Driver - Linux x86 & Linux x86_64",
installed "directly from" the AMD sup

AFAIR this problem appeared after a regular update. I never messed

The kernel oopses when loading the sata_promise module. My board is a
MSI K8T Neo2 - FIR and disabling the Promise Controller in the BIOS
doesn't help. :-(
The only workaround to be able to boot seems to be:
rm /lib/modules/
