I think the bug still exists. I cannot communicate with any hosts at
the other end of a tunnel created by network-manager-vpnc (NM-vpnc).
The network is multi-subnetted, so the VPN "landing zone" is separate
from the hosts to which I need to connect.
As with others on this bug, vpnc-connect works
I received the same error on Hardy and Intrepid when using the "HP
LaserJet 4000 Series Postscript [en] (recommended)" driver. With
Intrepid, changing the driver to "HP LaserJet 4000 series Foomatic/hpijs

I see the same, but top shows the spike in Xorg, not in Firefox.
Disabling the screen (and therefore the shared and high) stylesheet
makes things snappy again.
