Same issue. Going to recovery mode and then restarting seems to have
solved it for now.

So, apparently the problem solves itself, at least on my MacBookPro 5-5.
After installing, the computer will beep and the screen will be black,
but after some seconds, a progress bar like the one described by Gabriel
on #26 will appear. Suddenly the computer will shut down and when you
start it aga

I have the same issue on a MacBookPro5,5. I followed the procedure
described in the link posted by Gabriel. After the "bless" command and
rebooting (again worked only on the 5th time), I tried to run the .pkg
for my firmware. It said that my computer did not need the update. Then
I shut it down. Wh
I have the same issue on 2.6.38-8. If I go to battery, the connection indicator
doesn't change but the connection becomes really slow.
So, following Wolfgang's suggestion, I installed 2.6.39-999 201104191714, and
apparently the problem's solved.
