After opening more than one window/tab the accents stop working only on
the first window/tab. The keyboard is set to Brazilian ABNT2 and the
environment to English UK.

Using Brazilian/ABNT2 keyboard. Everything works fine until you open
another tab/window. Then, the characters like ã,é,ê, etc are displayed
as ~a, 'e, ^e etc. They work fine on the other windows. They only
stop working on *the first* window/tab.
