After a fresh install and updated to the latest version, the problem is gone.
Current kernel is 3.2.0-23-generic.
I don't know if some other software package can affect power code. I will see
if this problem will happen again to my laptop.

3.3.2-030302-generic, still not fixed.

This bug is really annoying. I give it a try every time my system get updated.
