Same symptoms here and no nvidia GPU, only "simple" Intel.
Since this version, temp is very high. Between 70 and 80 by default, and
up to 90 and more with a youtube video and even more with a 3D game like
Minetest… and then it shutdowns (like max 5-10min on Minetest).
It was clearly not the case

Context : when I start Unity, Compiz takes ~40Mo of RAM. But when I use
my computer hours and hours, then it takes more than 100… 150Mo. So
since many years, I regularly restart Unity with "unity --replace", and
it works : only relaunch the interface, and less RAM.

It's absolutly not just for Snippet ! It's for all plugin that add
"completion" feature. When I uncheck "Snippet" but let "GDP Completion"
it continues to crash.
If I unckeck all plugins with completion, it works again. Never crash.

And how to work again, when we are just basic users who use the package
version of Gedit ? Is there a fixed package ? a PPA ?
Or I just uncheck all completion waiting a classic update ?

I plusify this ticket because I can't (really can't) use Shotwell if it
works with our raws.
We have a folder with all our photos, classified as we want into our
subfolders. And we configured Shotwell to follow this folder and import

then accessible in different contexts : Thunderbird, standalone Contacts
app, Empathy, etc. Now I have to duplicate all contents…
