They are the same. I also found "sources.list.distUpgrade" which is a third
replica (I compared the 3 files using diff).
"/etc/apt/sources.list.d/" contains other source lists, do you need to see them?

PS: I tried upgrading without the last line in the "sources.list", the
one for MongoDB, and still no luck.

Could not calculate the upgrade
I used pastie.org because I needed to include many attachments in the
same comment, and I didn't know if that was possible using Launchpad
only. Anyway, here is my "sources.list". If you need the contents of
"/etc/apt/sources.list.d/", and the output of "dpkg -l", let me know.

I thought the Upgrade Manager disables 3rd party sources before it
fetches the upgrade packages (http://i.imgur.com/Pu1L9.png), or did I
get that wrong? Can you please be more specific regarding which PPAs to
purge?

I get this error when I try to upgrade my distro. I have tried many
different solutions, but none worked out for me.
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 10.10
Release:10.10
$ apt-cache policy update-manager
update-manager:
I still have the same problem. I have tried many different solutions,
