I have tested it with linux-image-4.4.0-97-generic and with linux-
image-4.10.0-37-generic with the same result, no sound at all. With
nvidia-375, sound did work almost flawless (sometimes I did have to
switch to console and get back to the graphics console pressing
Ctrl+Alt+F

With my ATI HD 7790, I tried the Open Source driver but it doesn't
support HDMI audio over DisplayPort. Now I'm not using DisplayPort but I
also had no luck because I'm using now two monitors and it also doesn't
support that (at least for me).

virtual console using Ctrl+Alt+F1, the console is blank. The other
consoles are in the same state. Only the virtual console with the sddm

configure it on every startup. I've tried to use ubuntu-bug but it has
