Apparently this bug occurs on the 3.x kernels. No problems were
encountered using the 2.6.38 kernels, using the same pulseaudio server
version. Any ideas?

To manage notifications about this bug go to:
https://bugs.launchpad.
Public bug reported:
When using the volume keys or the sound indicator volume slider, the
real master volume is not decreased / increased. Instead it is either
set to its maximum value, or the sound is muted. However, alsamixer
reports a gradual volume change for the master control.
ProblemType:
This manifests on Lucid 64, running on a system with Intel Core i7-930
on an ASRock X58 Extreme motherboard with the latest BIOS version, 6 GB
of RAM.

an option for the mount point.

The behaviour of mount.nfs here is somewhat similar to the one mentioned
in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/util-linux/+bug/537746.
