currently on xenial, with the hwe kernel. if bbswitch is active on the
kernel, dkms builds for the old kernel, which means no bbwitch on
reboot. Another dkms package had this issue, and apparently the fix is

Sorry for not seeing this sooner. I have a xenial machine with the
latest stable HWE kernel. Whenever there is a kernel upgrade, DKMS
builds for the old kernel version. After each update I have to manually
run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure bbswitch-dkms" Maybe I will take a look at
how you fixed it in thi

In the newer versions of ffmpeg the headers needed to compile nvenc
support is included in compat. If I am not mistaken, this means that
ffmpeg can be compiled in ubuntu with nvenc support without outside
sources / packages.

Notebook doesn't suspend when lid is closed after update to 16.04

I don't think this is a problem with systemd. I switched to using KDE
neon from the regular Unity release and the suspend issue is not there.
Maybe it has to do with the desktop environments, not systemd itself.

I have this issue with a fresh install of 16.04 on my HP dv6. Same
situation after updating. No external monitor or dock is connected.
There isn't even a docking port on my laptop. When lid is closed display
backlight turns off but device doesn't suspend. I am able to suspend
normally via command l
With the login.conf edit, when the device unsuspends the backlight
doesn't return to the brightness that was set before suspending.

I am able to change the profile picture on a fresh install. After
running apt upgrade I am i able to change it. Another side effect is
that changing my background doesn't change lightdm's background

I had this problem as well, and adding the
"HandleLidSwitchDocked=suspend" fixed it. Why would Ubuntu think that
the laptop is docked 24/7?
