I couldn't reproduce the bug. I tried a fresh install of Hardy in
VirtualBox with the latest updates. Then I upgraded to Intrepid. VLC was
working good with his graphical interface.
So I think that the problem comes from my configuration and my
installation. But I don't know where is the problem.
No it doesn't and I have this log from vlc -vv :

Yes I have deleted all the config files related to vlc in my home directory.
The problem happens for all the video and audio files. VLC plays the files but
there is no graphical interface.
I try VLC on a fresh install (not an update from Hardy) and VLC works
