it often just crashes the program, but i had it totally hang my machine,
could not even use ctrl-alt F2 etc to login at another screen. had to
powerdown, reboot and wait for e2fschk to runbugs.launchpad.net/

It's not a problem, however removing ntpdate will still remove
ubuntu-minimal...which is not recommended. Really, I don't see why these are
so tied together. I understnad ntpdate relying on ubuntu-minimal, but the
reverse should not be true.

If you have ntp and ntpdate installted, it is recommended you uninstall
ntpdate, however you cannot uninstall ntpdate without uninstalling
ubuntu-minimal which is not recommended.
