Another thing that brings the soundcard correctly up is running the
following sequence of commands:
udevadm control --reload-rules && udevadm trigger
I took a snapshot of the /dev tree before and after the command. There
are no significant differences.

Clean install of kubuntu intrepid i386 and amarok 2 instead of 1.4, with
instructions from kubuntu.org.
Play/Pause button works as global shortcut, but "Media Next" and "Media
Previous" only work as local shortcut. If used as global, they do nothing.

Previous" dont work with Amarok 2.0.
