If the program is compiled with the following, then it works.
gcc check_glgenframebuffer.c -lGL -lX11
This is a problem if you have a program that needs both libs such as the
Open Source Video Mixer Snowmix.

Forgot to mention that the sample code on my old laptop with two cores
it takes 1.8 secs for Ubuntu 13.10 and 38.6 secs on Ubuntu 14.04.
