Im experiencing this issue in 15.04 vivid, xubuntu. It is irritating as
I can only use the white cursor theme, using black means its sometimes
white and sometimes black depending on the application.

Yes - it may be related.
I have performed the steps requested and here is what happens:
If I start gwibber from the command line before opening on the menu then
it opens (but is unresponsive)
If I try then try to start gwibber from the menu, a small white box
opens but the full program

Problem : gwibber is unresponsive after a hibernation session. The
program does not update or close (file exit or red cross etc)
Tested under x86 Lucid. Clean install with all updates. This bug can be
reproduced 100% of the time.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE - As my system was reinstalled, it now has the sever
version of ubuntu on it - PPC. There will therefore be packages missing that
is normally in a default install of Ubuntu desktop version.
