Without getting any error or msg dialogue, I need to intuit that I need
to manually configure modules and hack files just to see a windows
share. That's why more people aren't comfortable with Linux and Ubuntu.

Yay! Thanks to this thread I've just noticed that /etc/rc2.d/S12dbus was
missing.
After copying it from /etc/rc3.d/S12dbus I no longer get this error on
my up to date Breezy->Feisty->Gutsy machine.

Summarising the workaround above by jmrasor, running the four commands
below then relogging fixes the problem temporarily. I have to do this on
every boot to get my USB attached harddrives to be recognised, which is
thankfully infrequent ;).

rather than

I haven't tried a manual setup as I use WEP rather than WPA (separate
airo card doesn't support WPA).

I checked the firmware at http://prism54.org/fullmac.html and it is the
same as /lib/firmware/2.6.20-15-generic/isl3890 so this is definitely a
different issue.

Confirmed that removing edac related modules and reinserting fglrx fixes
agpgart behaviour and restores DRI for me on latest build. Beryl still

My network is WEP 128bit.
The machine with the WG511v1 was recently built and has worked with Edgy
and Feisty until early April.
The machine with the WG511v2 was built in 2006 has worked correctly
using Etch, Edgy and Feisty until early April.
This bug suggests some udev funkiness may be involve
