This bug has occurred three times today for me. It seems that the
computer "only" refuses to update the screen and doesn't respond to
mouse, keyboard and other inputs, but it's working in the background.

as I remember - so I don't think it's because of out of memory.)

Dropping objects to a Nautilus window will prevent the source
application from receiving further (input) events. As a consequence of
this, such an application become unusable for the user and killing that
process is the only way to go.

I have just switched to the last (dynamic) workspace and a half minute
later computer froze. It didn't reacted to any keyboard and mouse
events, laptop lid closing (I hoped I can suspend) or HDMI cable un/plug
(it sometimes used to solve some freezes). That's all I know.
