I also got latest nvidia-352 from xorg-edgers building and working with
the modified kernel, if anyone else should need that.

Ok I managed to try the 3.18-rc1 kernel. The nvidia-343 driver fails to
build for this, so that's probably why you couldn't log in. Testing in a
virtual console, no wireless interface was up.
