Thanks Marc. I think the problem was -8 still on the system. I removed
it, and was able to file a new bug as directed by Seth. Same problem as
described in this bug.

Updated to kernel 2.6.38-10 from natty-proposed (-9 wasn't there?).
Problem was not fixed. Thinkpad X61.
