I have been following those kinds of reports and I find it very annoying
that it hasn't been fixed yet. Even an upgrade to 2.6.33 didn't change a
thing. It seems like no one ever copies files bigger than ~ 500 MB to a
USB drive. My memory fills up to 99% and then the speed drops to some
KBytes/s wh
I am also affected by this issue, since I log in by using fingerprint
authentication. Why doesn't the keyring daemon ask for a password when
it is not unlocked? That is clearly a bug since Lucid for me.

I am also experiencing very slow rates while transferring big files.
When I copy a file to my USB storage device, it starts transferring with
30 MB/s and drops to 1 MB/s, which is really annoying, scince I don't
want to boot to Windows 7 every time I want to copy something to my USB
