skipped, but it then failed to install the package.

That looks like a systemd message. I fixed this on my own system by
making a systemd config for it. Not sure if I did it right.

Here is a patch to fix this problem. You may also have to "sudo modprobe
-r gspca_kinect" or blacklist the kernel module before the libfreenect
demo software will run.

In XUbuntu 11.04 the installer doesn't proceed because the available
disk space is less than 4.3 gigs. This is also the limit for a regular
Ubuntu install. It doesn't seem correct. I was able to get around it
