I'm running Kubuntu 12.10 and this bug continues to affect me with 13.1,
using .deb packages I built automatically from their 13.1 installer.
It looks like this is just as ‘fixed’ as their ‘Konsole resize causes X
crash’ bug.

I didn't see an up-to-date Ubuntu package for tovid, and I couldn't find
an up-to-date Debian package of another variety elsewhere, either. I
banged my head on the keyboard for a while and brought the old tovid
package up to date. While the project doesn't necessarily use autoconf,
my package uses

There's apparently a KDE4 GUI for managing old KDE Resources used by
older KDE applications, or KDE applications that haven't yet been ported
to Akonadi.
Go to System Settings, and click the Advanced tab.
Run "kres-migrator". It will create a special Akonadi resource which
synchronizes your Akonadi contacts to the old, pre-Akonadi style
kresources that Kopete is still looking for.
