Sitsofe, In my personal experience just clicking on "Enable" in Restricted Drivers Manager installs nvidia-glx from the repos and the user is unable to stop this installation. So if you have the NVidia binary driver installed Xorg fails on restart giving an API mismatch. This would suggest that

I am changing the description of this bug as I have now discovered that it is nothing to do with MS Office files, it is a dictionary issue. Any file which contains British English (as opposed to English (US) etc) that is opened in any OOo application immediately causes OOo to segfault. -- Open O
