After upgtrade to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS trac-bitten complained about
unresolved dependencies. Therefore, I re-installed it but got this error
message.

I've found a difference between the account that works and the one that
doesn't. The account where Thunderbird crashes is an LDAP account. There
are no local entries in /etc/passwd. Instead, the account is managed via
nss_ldap.
If I add the account to /etc/passwd with the same information as in
LD
I have the same problem. Thunderbird crashes on startup. However, this
only happens with one account. When I login with a different account, it
runs without problems.

I've just installed 0.2.030306-12 from the Lucid universe repository on
my current Ubuntu 9.10. Install and remove now work without problems.
As an alternative, I used the following work-around to get rid of the
old 0.2.030306-11 packages:
$ sudo mkdir -p /etc/ggz/games /etc/ggz/rooms
$ sudo
