I had a similiar problem. My cupsys failed to print. The problem is the foomatic filter couldn't load the perl IO::Handle module, because my apparmor doesn't include /usr/local/lib/perl /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/perl I moved the apparmor config out of the way and cups works fine: sudo m
