I experienced the same exactly behaviour with precise and NFS mount.
Previously I used autofs to mount NFS share, but with precise, autofs
give very poor performance (multiple freeze of my desktop when NFS was
used).
here my fstab line for yhe NFS share :
192.168.0.12:/volume1/public /media/nas/
I confirm for the "whole xperia" affected aspect.
I have Xperia Play, and the same matter occurs.
Just for info, I copy libmtp rules from /lib/udev/rules.d/ to
/etc/udev/rules.d/ and add the entry for Xperia play but matter still
remains.

I confirm this method works too.
I have a SB700 based motherboard, and with beta and RC I have exactly
the same issue if I try to boot with a live USB key.
And the first time I try to unplugged/repluged USB key when the upslash
appears was the good one !
