Not sure about Mic Boost, but Dock Mic Capture Volume & Dock Mic Capture Switch
are both reset to 0 everytime I plug-in my headphone&mic.
If you gave me the command you used to produce the above output, I could be
more specific. So far I have been using a gui to alsa mixer to set the values.

Fildling a bit, the problem seems to be linked to the alsa mixer levels
and rec status which are reset everytime I unplug and replug my headset
with microphone. Not very practical, specially since there are no way
to set this from any tool in the system's setting panel...

I discussed this a bit with eucalyptus and there is no obvious ways to

Well, currently nothing new has been happening on the computer where the
sync is not happening. it still does not sync even though it says it is
connected. Quite disappointed by it to tell you the truth. I which
there was a way to tell Ubuntu One to start sync from scratch on this
computer...

I agree completely with your proposal as it appears as well when someone
ssh to a desktop as I just checked.
