It is not an issue anymore. The Evince version bundled with Ubuntu Hardy
Heron (the one I am currently using) does a smooth transition between
pages, so the scroll bars are always controlled by the user. I had
nearly forgotten this, but it has been fixed. You can close it whenever
you wish, nice jo
Same problem here. Both on a Xubuntu and Ubuntu (Gnome) 8.04. It crashes
*always*, but after the crash, if I open Firefox again and choose to
restore session, it works flawlesslyl... I don't understand a thing. :S

It has been fixed with Hardy Heron 8.04. No clue what was wrong, but now
I've been able to boot the LiveCD and install Xubuntu flawlessly. I
think this bug can be closed now. Great work. :)

Tried yesterday the alternate CD. It took ages to load, but it seemed to
work, until it reached the point where it tried to detect the PC
hardware. When it reached 75% (or so, I can't remember), it displayed
that it was checking for Floppy Drives, and it just frozed there. I
waited for more than ha
Ubuntu also freezed on the same point. Gobuntu, on the other hand,
freezed later, but with a different error message. I'll try the
alternate CD for Xubuntu this weekend.

Have just happened again. This time I was able to capture the icon-
switch issue, and this time the blank window stating that some folder
couldn't be opened was a lot different. Here are screenshots of both.

Also, I tried to skip rebooting my PC, by restarting just the x-windows
(using ctrl + alt + backspace), but the login textbox did not show up.
It just showed the plain Ubuntu beige on the whole screen.
