The last comment and the attachement were meant to clarify another bug
(195174). I confused them. However, that bug is already resolved.
For this bug here i found out while trying to reproduce it, that it was my
fault by not correctly selecting the area to be filtered.

I added the sheet in which the fault occured in. I cut out some data, but you
can still try with the column "J".
The cells in the column J should only contain H or S. If you select to filter
for "S" then after row 255 some "H" occur.

calculated in an additional column and tried to autofilter them. Then
autofilter shows no effect. When there are numerical values in cells
then autofilter works up to 255 r

I use a sheet with more than 460 rows.
When Autofilter is activated for a specific cyclic cell content it scans only
up the first 255 rows, then the following rows are displayed unfiltered.
