the firmware on those NICs to 14.31.1014. The problematic firmware

The same issue is noted on Ubuntu 18.04 Wayland.
On XServer it didn't run and shows error "Unable to create drawable".

this was an Nvidia driver bug not gnome gdm3, as follows my system
