not only 1^(-0.5). Any x that i managed to try with x^(-0.5) gave
incorrect results. And not only ^(-0.5) but ^(-0.1), ^(-0.2) and many
many others.

How to reproduce: Terminal Preferences -> Appearance -> Background set
to "Background Image" File: "None". Restart xfce4-terminal and see in
task manager how it's memory usage increase.
