i don know why or how but my system suddenly didnt go to suspend to ram
anymore automatically after a period of time. i could do it manually. i
tried many things and found a workaround: delete or rename .kde folder
in home directory.

hallo. when i go to suspend to ram sometimes usb ports(only front, cause it is
a seperate pci-e card) loose functionality and dmesg shows:
xhci_hcd :06:00.0: Host took too long to start, waited 16000 microseconds.
xhci_hcd :06:00.0: PCI post-resume error -19!
i feel a bit stupid as i now found out where this comes from and i didnt
try that before. my linux boot command line included "$vt_handoff".
removing it made everything work as expected. so it is definitly not a
kernel problem i think.

The problem was not, that rc.local wasn't executed, but the modprobe trick
seems to work only, if booting is finished. My rc.local now looks like this:
modprobe -r gspca_sunplus && sleep 60s && modprobe gspca_sunplus
exit 0
Now, everything works.

The modules must be reloaded after boottime to work correctly:

That does the trick for me! A /dev/videoX is created, accessable and full

I guess, the duplicate status of this bug is wrong. It starts with a
report, that /dev/videoX is not created when plugging a "gspca"-webcam.
This is also my problem, running Ubuntu 8.10 with a 2.6.27-8-generic
