Hi, I followed your instructions and installed 5.3.0-17.18+lp1846016. I
didn't see any errors during boot just blinking cursor in left upper
corner of display. However boot took probably same long time as when
there were errors and, as I wrote, screen was black with blinking cursor
instead of stand
still nothing offered as install candidate:

Actually logout can occur without any cable manipulation or turning on/off
external monitor. Few times it already happened to me with just lock screen
activated. No standby, no hibernate. After I came back, I expected a screen to

confirmed on fresh install of ubuntu 12.04TLS, it is definitely not dependent
on PArnal's local configuration,
for me even "start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE=eth0)" did not
help
it needs restart of smbd/nmbd after each reboot
