I did re-install almost immediately and the second installation went
through without a hitch. I've been through the page you sent me and
couldn't see anything there that seemed relevant to my situation.

"ls -l /var/log/installer/syslog /var/log/syslog /var/log/partman" gives
me the following message:
ls: /var/log/partman: No such file or directory

I've tried copying them to /home as root, as well as trying to access
them directly from the browse feature on the bug page and neither works.
The web page tells me the files are empty and konqueror (running as
root) tells me it can't read the file?

Hi Colin
I've uploaded /var/log/syslog but couldn't do the same for the other two
files you mentioned. I get a message on the page saying I can't upload
an empty file.
