I didn't want an instant notification, I wouldn't use IM! Why is this

being, for me. Obviously there is some setting that is putting the panel

I have found that piix is deprecated, in light of ata_piix. ata_piix
gets loaded by casper, and 'piix' doesn't exist in Gutsy anymore. This
is now a kernel issue.

When installing driver updates, the correct updates are selected by folders
named with the first three places of the kernel version (2.6.20). It would be
helpful to have the possibility of discriminating between a finer selection of
kernels, such a
ALSA 1.0.14 works natively, and so does Realtek's ALSA. RT's ALSA is
very close to 1.0.14, if not functionally the same (from what I've
gathered).
